Ribbon Hair Clips

I have made a variety of hair clips for Savannah in the past year. It's been fun to try different styles, but as always I try to keep them simple. My first attempt was with the curly ribbons, which are my favorite but also the most work. (Although I've started working on some new ones that are incredibly time consuming, but will be worth it when I get them done...) Very fun to figuring out how to make though!
More recently I made simple ones tying bows with ribbons and gluing on fun flowers & brads. Much cheaper than buying them in the store! If you're interested in making some, this is a fun class for moms and their girls.

You know, with all the fun time consuming stuff that you do, one would not assume that you have 2 young, rambunctious children!

I ove these. I make all kinds of clips for Sam's hair. If you use the velet ribbon and put a little strip of maganet in the inside under the clip, they'll hold the tiniest amount of hair. I always give them as newborn gifts... Yours are super cute. I'll have to try the curly ribbon.

I failed to give any instructions on how to do the curly ribbon. Oops. Wrap the grosgrain ribbon around a small dowel and heat until the fibers just soften enough to reform in the curly shape. Be careful not to overheat and burn the ribbon, but at the same time, if it's not hot enough the ribbon won't hold the curl. It just takes a little practice.
